Holy Thursday Reflection

We will be busy today. Hubby and I will have to meet our Accountant in Orlando and when we are done, we will attend the Mass of the Lord's Supper in Merritt Island. I am really thankful that my husband and I went to church regularly. We also tried to volunteer and join a church group in the parish. You know, I believe that when God is at the center in the family, everything will be fine and in harmony. It may not be perfect (no one is) but, happiness, content, love and respect matters in all relationship and I am thankful that we have that as a couple.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER - "The washing of the feet" which we see on Holy Thursday masses is a reflection that Jesus wants us to live in humility and that we should love one another. Not just on Lent season but, everyday as we go through life.

If we have a prayerful heart and have Jesus in our lives, loving is not hard to do and living in humility is just an ordinary impulse that we do. Have a blessed Holy Week y'all.

The Bible on History Channel

My husband has an amazing mind with regards to remembering history and facts. When we watch the Jeopardy, a quiz show here in the US, hubby can answer 80% + of the questions. He is up to date with politics, current events and the trendy Big TV Shows such The Bible and Vikings on History Channel, he knows it first hand. The Bible is an Epic series on History Channel aired on primetime and produced by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett ( see 2nd photo below).

The mini series runs for 10 hours and shown in five installments. It started March 3 and will conclude on Easter Sunday. Each episode runs for 2 hours and we have been watching it since. At first, I thought no one would patronize it especially that it talks about Christianity. Lo and behold, it is trending in Twitter, most talked-about in Facebook and according to the news, The Bible had 13.1 million viewers on its first episode and by far, the largest audience on cable TV this year.

I am very happy that The Bible has a positive feedback not only from the religious community but including those who are not Christians. I read the twitter feedback and was truly amazed that most of the tweets are positive. There were blasphemers and some controversies especially when they showed the EVIL who look like the US President. If you haven't seen THE BIBLE on History Channel, you can check it here and I hope you will enjoy watching. Don't forget to watch it this Sunday at 8/7C for the last two-hour episode.

Have a blessed Holy Week to all.

Fragrant Lemon Flowers

My garden change my mood and it always inspires me. Seeing the birds, the produce and the blooms truly makes my day happy. Have you ever wondered how a lemon flower looks like? I have a lemon tree and its about three feet tall and it bears fruit already.  About several weeks ago, flowers started to bloom in my lemon tree so; I took this photo. The blossoms begin to grow in winter and bloom in full in spring and summer. That is the reason why, I have been seeing these blooms because its springtime now. As you can see, the flower is white with purple base. There are 5 petals  in each flower and it smells good.

I will post the photo of the tiny fruit that comes out from this flower on my next post. My garden smells good because of the blooms of my 3 citrus trees.

Geologic Hazard: Sinkholes

Last year, I remember that there were two sinkhole incidents happened in Florida. It was big news at that time but, it was immediately off the news for no one was hurt. Sinkholes are common here in Florida. I was thinking about us so; I always pay attention if there are cracks in our property. Thank God that there was none and so far, it never occurred nearby our neighborhood. What happened in Tampa in Feb 28 was a different story. Jeff Bush, 28 was swallowed by the sinkhole while he was asleep. His brother Jeremy Bush tried to help him but, because it was too deep, they can't reach to him.

Sinkholes are geologic hazards and can cause extensive damage to structures such as houses, roads and to prevent this from happening is very hard because they just appear from nowhere.

It is scary in fact after the sinkhole incident in Florida, Pennsylvania sinkhole follows and this time, in the property of Doris Jenkins in Bethlehem Township.

Sinkholes are common where the rock below the land surface is limestone. If there are carbonate rocks, salt beds, or rocks that can naturally be dissolved by circulating ground water and as the rock dissolves, spaces and caverns develop underground. Sinkholes are found all over the world. If you Google it and watch the images of sinkholes, you will be overwhelmed as to the number of incidents all over the world.
